Cotton is one of the most widely grown natural fibres in the world. It is harvested in every nation and the backbone of Australian fashion and global fashion at large. It is believed that cotton is one of the oldest fibres known to man. Cotton is found on a flowering plant and belongs to the Mallow family. While cotton is extremely versatile and harmless there is an ongoing debate about growing cotton. It is said that growing cotton is harmful to the environment and requires high doses of pesticides and fertilizers. Due to this, in the recent past organic cotton is being used in Australian fashion, Cotton is used in the production of clothes, fabrics, linen etc. There are many different types of cotton and Australian cotton uses it fair share of it. Let’s find out the different types of cotton.

First we have Canton Cotton that is a heavier form of cotton and is used to make sweaters and knit tops and t – shirts. It is soft to touch but extremely tough to pull apart. Next we have the extremely soft and fluffy Bamboo Cotton. The bamboo is crushed and then mixed with cotton and great for different types of clothing. The other types of light weight are cotton twill, French Terry and Honey comb cotton. We also have Egyptian cotton that is great for bed linen. Cotton shirts are extremely popular in Australian Fashion. Even if cotton is not used in the purist form you will find many different cotton blends like linen, cotton rayon etc. Right now cotton shirts are all the rage in Australia. Cotton shorts are great work for both men and women. For those who thought cotton shirts are boring then its time to change your bind. Cotton is extremely versatile so you can expect bold colours, digital prints, plaid etc. Not just shirts cotton shorts, linen pants are extremely comfort and always in vogue in Australian Fashion.

Australian cotton shirts have many benefits. They are made from natural fibres and are great for people with sensitive skin and allergies. Cotton is extremely absorbent which offers greater comfort than any other fabric. You also have wrinkle free cotton blends that are a must for working professionals!
